Service Questions
- Med-a-Word is an added feature to our Record Reform® products. It’s a hyperlinked document that has all of the medical terminology and syntax that is used in medical records. It’s a great tool to have lots of different medical definitions in one place.
- A cost projection estimates the future and lifetime costs of medical treatments—such as surgeries, physical therapy, and ongoing care—related to a sustained injury.
- We require all relevant narratives, medical records, and billing documents. If you’re requesting a vocational or economic report, we may also need documentation of lost work or income streams, and occasionally tax returns.
- A PCP (Pocket Cost Projection) is designed for five-figure soft tissue injury cases, while an MCP (Medical Cost Projection) is suited for six-figure cases. An LCP (Life Care Plan) is used for seven-figure cases and high-cost injuries such as burns or amputations. Unlike PCPs and MCPs, LCPs include a medical evaluation, while the other two do not involve a personal evaluation of the plaintiff.
- A UCR (Usual, Customary, and Reasonable) report evaluates all medical bills in a case to determine if they reflect fair market value. This can help strengthen a case if costs were undervalued but may also highlight overpayments that could impact case value.
