A 71 year old Alabama man suffered a fractured hip and was hospitalized for one month, during which he suffered a Stage 4 decubitus ulcer. A medQuest registered nurse reported negligence on the part of the nursing staff for failing to turn the immobile patient appropriately and failing to intervene in a timely manner, which would have prevented the ulcer.
