Endodontics, Dentistry
Ref. # 40028

A Delaware woman underwent a root canal, during which the endodontist applied a chemical to the gum. The patient instantly experienced severe, burning pain. As a result of the burn, the patient has undergone the removal of three teeth and significant oral surgery, and she requires additional surgery for bone graft and tooth replacement. A medQuest endodontist opined the attending endodontist negligently performed the root canal procedure. The patient's subsequent complications and surgeries were preventable.
